Logo celebrating 50 years of baking fresh bread.

Brumby’s has been baking fresh since 1975 - and for five decades, the warm smell of bread from your local Brumby’s has been part of daily life in communities across Australia and beyond.

We’ve grown. We’ve evolved. But we’ve never changed what matters: real bakers, real ingredients, baked fresh daily.

Check out the big moments that helped Brumby’s rise. This is our journey – 50 years in the baking.

Brumby’s began in 1975 with the opening of the first store, originally called the “Old Style Bread Centre,” in Ashburton, Victoria. As the bakery grew in popularity, the vision evolved, and in pursuit of a truly Australian identity, the Brumby’s brand was born. From day one, the focus has remained the same: fresh, handcrafted bread baked on-site daily by local bakers.
