Our very own Donna Elton, Product Developer Brumby’s Bakery, has been in the baking industry for 19 years, after starting and completing her apprenticeship between 1998-2001 with Brumby’s Bakery Carina. Since then she has worked for a number of franchises, spanning a 13-year period.
Donna has also worked in the hotel industry, including Stamford Plaza Brisbane and Daydream Island Whitsundays, which allowed her to combine her creative passion for baking and work alongside tradespeople alike. She has also been a part of the sales team at P.E Foods, providing technical knowledge and delivering a strong focus on customer service.
Donna has been with Retail Food Group (RFG) since 2013, spending the majority of her time as part of the learning and development team as New Franchisee Trainer/ Product Specialist for Brumby’s.
Using her experience in the field, Donna has streamlined numerous procedures and improved multiple support documents to assist in staff training and store efficiency, as well as assisting with the creation of training modules and videos, and supporting marketing photoshoots.
Donna has successfully completed a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment and a Food Safety Supervisor certificate, and was recently recognised at the 2017 Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Bread Show – King of the Bakers Awards, where she received a second place for her Pasta Dura and second place for her white four-strand plait.
The Toowoomba Royal Bread Show is a yearly event held at The Toowoomba Showgrounds. This year there were 700 entrants, which is the largest bread competition in Australia to date. Congratulations to all entrants in Toowoomba Royal Bread Show and to those who attended the awards ceremony, which was an inspiration to those within our industry.
Donna is looking forward to being part of the future of the Bakery Café Division and assisting the product innovation team by developing a range of exciting new products for our Brumby’s franchise partners and customers.
